going to buy a turbo help plz

hey guys i think my turbo 14b is dead so im gonan upgrade i want to do the 16g im just confused i see all this crap and dont know what it means someone want to explain
i see the
small 16g
big 16g
evo 3 16g
evo 8 16g
hahn 16g i dont want to was to much jsut want somethign to bolt on and work what do u guys think

o yeah i was think about doing the small 16g im going to buy a used one is this a good idea or not i will make sure it has low miles?

the question is do you want to upgrade to a decently larger turbo than stock and accept all of the supporting mods or get a close to stock turbo, the s16g. I would say evoIII but thats just me. good luck

I'd vot e16g as well. Alot of those 'hybrid' or 'killer' 16gs end up to be as expensive as some of the bigger turbos without any of the performance gains. The evo is a pretty potent turbo for the price and should hold you until you want to upgrade again.

well i found a good deal on an evo 8 turbo and mani but would a evo 16g bolt to my stock 2g mani or not??? i jsut want to stick with a turbo that will take me into the low 13s if that maybe high or mid would be ok what do u guys think thanks for all the inputs

Well, you can scratch the Evo8 turbo off of your list. The exhaust housing doesn't match up to any dsm manifold, unless you make one yourself, and the compressor side of the turbo is to the right of the exhaust housing. I've seen it done when I was looking through the galant vr-4 forums, but the guy who did it said he went through with it to see if it could be done, but doesn't think it's worth the effort when you have just as potent turbos available.

With that said, my Small 16G does pack more of a punch, and at 15 psi, it feels like my old 14b when it would creep to 23 psi. Of course, I'm still running 450's and no afc so I can't turn my engine to it's full potential yet.

yeah i seen that on the 8 after doing some searching i found a good deal on a small 16g u dont think it would be much of an upgrade its ported and says the big only flows 10% more?
