GM Synchromesh...

My tranny is really notchy. I've been hearin a lot about this BG Synchroshift, and GM Synchromesh lately. Seems it really works for any of you who've tried it. I called my local GM dealer to ask about this stuff, and all he told me was WHICH one. He said there is so many different GM Synchromesh fluids, he couldn't tell me which one to use. Does anybody have a part # or anything like that??? HELP...

Well, i got the stuff dumped in my car today. Not a lot of noticable difference, but a minor improvement. My mechanic did say the old stuff was pretty black though. (i never checked it since i bought the car 6 months ago). Maybe next time i'll try the BG Synchroshift instead. I did hear something once about pulling the shifter and replacing some washers or something like that, which supposedly totally fixed the notchiness problem. I'll keep researchin this...

the washer idea works ok, also i hated how my shifter was loose(back and forward)....so i made the little black round thing that moves back and forward when u shift a little bigger so it felt alot tighter in gear,....dont make it too big it might not go into the gear...theres a few other shifter mods at www.vfaq.com i think i tried most of the easy stuff and it seams to worka lil.

I had the best luck with the factory synthetic based 75/85(I think it was) anyway it came from the dealership.
