Would it be *ok* to run a blow through UICP setup with a GM mas... if I don't have an EGT gauge or any logging software?

Thanks,
Symple

Yea if your not tuning with it and you have all the translator settings at the stock level. If you plan on adding fuel and all that fun stuff you should get a logger and egt gauge at the least.

Ok, thanks. Here's another related issue: Since the stock SMIC is pretty much tapped at at 300HP, (from what i've been reading) would it be advisable to just buy a *cheap* FMIC and mount the sensor in the piping myself? I had planned on going with the Dejon pipe, but I see no sense in redoing everything.

Alternatively...should I just buy a SAFC and EGT gauge instead?
Apparantly, the 1G mas is crap...but I suppose that would help me get the most out of it.

Obviously, front mounts are the way to go, but...I'm also on your typical college-kid budget here.

At this point, I am open to suggestions!!!

Thanks,
Symple

Look around for a used fmic. I picked one up off of a supercharged mustang for $150 since he was upgrading. Just make the piping yourself.

As for the sensor, definitely do it yourself. It really isn't hard to do stuff like this. There is no reason to pay someone else.

Skip the egt. They are pretty much worthless. Instead save for a logger or knockbox. I suppose you could also consider an afc2 and read knock since you are a 1g.
