I'm planning on gettting a boost gauage so im just wondering is there any other gauge i need to get? like a EGT or a wideband 02 ?

and also what brand is good?

EGT, oil pressure, Wideband o2 are all good to have. Don't get an a/f ratio gauge unless it is a wideband. There's no point in having a dancing light show. I have EGT, boost, and oil pressure.

I have all autometer boost, oil and EGT. don't have the EGT installed yet though. If you do buy an EGT, you might want to find one that goes above 1600 degrees F.

This has also been talked about many time over. You can find alot of nfo by searching.

-Oh yeah, I really appricate my aftermarket Oil pressure gauge when the wire for my stock gauge keeps falling off the sending unit.

I was about to post a similar question.

Is there any benefit to having both an EGT and a Wideband O2?

If I'm aiming at a 300-350hp goal, would an oil pressure gauge other than the stock dash gauge be wise? If so, why?

I have a 3 gauge pod, but out of boost, EGT, Wideband O2, and oil pressure, I don't know which 3 to get (definitely boost and wideband, but which for the 3rd).

That Zeitronix unit looks awesome for the money - the Innovative wideband (me likey) is $400!! Since I have a 2-1/4" boost gauge already and a 3-pod A-pillar mount, I kinda want 2-1/4" gauges. :|

There is a benefit to having an EGT and Wideband both. EGT measures exhaust gas temperature. The Wideband measures your air/fuel ratio. You could be untuned and running normal EGTs, blow your engine, and wonder what happened.

Oil pressure gauges are wise to have because they let you know if you lose oil pressure somewhere. You could lose a cylinder and lose oil pressure and your gauge will show you that. It might not be enough of a difference for the stock gauge to read.

If I had to pick 3: boost, oil pressure, and EGT. But that's me. Everyone is different.

Vallary99: Thanks. You give an example where having an EGT but no wideband can lead to a blown engine. Is there a situation where you would have high EGT but normal AFR? If not, it seems that wideband is more important than EGT - leading me to think oil pressure, boost, and wideband as my 3 gauges. What do you think?

I wasnt completely sure, Do you need a labtop to run the zeitronix wideband?

No, you can get that LCD display which would basically serve as 4 gauges in one(lambda, egt, a/r, and boost). Laptop or palm you can use to save logs and change some settings. They just released the software for palm.
