I have a 97 tsi that has no ac. It has all the components but the compressor and dryer need to be replaced. There is no belt on the ac compressor. My question is that when I turn on the defrost I get a vibration that I can feel in the clutch and the brake. I have been told that when a engine is rebuilt sometimes they will remove the balance shaft and this will cause a vibration when the ac is on. The car has had the motor replaced before I got it. Is there any way of telling if this is what I am feeling. I have also heard that you can push the ac button in and it will change colors but mine just stays green is that normal? Any help would be appreciated. :talon:

it shouldnt change with or with out a/c --- the only way to tell is remove the lower t-belt cover ( alot of work )

I can't really tell where it is coming from all I know is that I only feel it when I turn the controls on defrost and the ac lights up it doesn't do it on any other setting before defrost
