gauges suggestions

i was wondering intially how many guages should i get for my car, its currently all stock but im planning on doing alot with it soon. I know i need a new boost gauge and im probally going to get a a/f. any suggestions

you really only need a boost guage, but an egt guage would also help tremendously. The digital o2 a/f guages aren't accurate and you really should use them to tune by. You can use them as a guide to let you know where in the ballpark of how rich or lean you are. I would get a autometer boost guage and a autometer egt, but with a tre probe.

Hey man,
You definately need a boost gauge, preferably a 30-0-30 gauge. As far as an accurate 02 sensor reading for starters, you should buy an Apexi turbo timer. That way, you'll have the turbo timer and it also has a digital number readout for your air/fuel mix, so you'll have much more of an accurate o2 voltage to tune with an AFC. I bought a LED o2 gauge and sure it looks pretty like a ### rainbow and it does function somewhat, but its really useless. I'm just now about to buy an apexi turbo timer to go with my AFC so I can tune somewhat. I'm not going to get into all the datalogger/dsmlink crap right now so I think thats a good base for a beginning tuner. An EGT gauge would also help tremendously once you start tuning the air/fuel mix, but for a beginner with a pretty much stock(intake, exhaust, Boost control) car doesnt really need one. Hope that helps a little!
