Ok I did some searching after being unable to bolt my transaxle up to my rebuilt motor, what I found is that the FWD flywheel is larger than the AWD flywheel so all I can assume is that the mechanic I had doing the work on my engine gave me the wrong flywheel. However: http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=1206&
after looking at that link I am wondering if I would still be able to use the friction disc and pressure plate, then all I would need is a new flywheel.
