Fuels pumps interchangeable?

So I have come to the conclusion that the fuel pump is bad on my 99 GST. It gets power, new filter, but no pressure in the lines even right at the first rubber line off the pump itself. Now, I have a fuel pump from a 90 TSi awd, and they appear to have a few differences, but is it possible to swap the pumps without major modifications make it work? Thanks!

i don't think it would work with out some modifications im sure the wires wont match up
