I'm thinking of just doing a walbro 190 pump and an A/F gauge for now.

Is there anything else that I NEED in order to make this work properly?

Will I see gains from this on my current setup?

how much boost could I run with the new fuel upgrade?

will I need an afpr when running the 190?

I really dont want to spend the money on injectors, safc, and a logging method. I just want to keep it simple and cheap for now. Maybe over the winter I will go the rest of the way.

My current setup includes a fpbigt28, an adfx smic, 2.5 inch turbo back exhaust, 2.5 upper and lower ic pipe. 1st gen bov, buschur bc set to 15 psi.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

A lot of people say that a 190 is all thats really needed, in the begining. I think a FPR is in order, in which case you will need a fuel pressure gauge, and some fittings. I am soon installing a 255 HP pump and associated things, so ill let you know how it feels. An A/F gauge is pretty useless, unless you have a wide band, and even then, you will need some tuning tools.

Anyway there are others with more experience in this, also this has been discussed so search around more next time.

Keep the boost at 15 PSI untill you get a nice street FMIC. You will not need a FPR unless the engine is running like ass since the pump.

Yeah, you shouldn't need an AFPR with the 190. It'd sure be a nice-to-have, though. A DSM guru recently told me that the stock FPR goes nonlinear above about 15 PSI anyway, meaning it can't keep raising the pressure in a 1:1 ratio that high. Has anybody else heard anything about this?

A/F guage(probably auto meter or some other varient)= waste of money unless all you're looking for is a pretty blinky light on your pillar.

190lph pump is a very capable pump. Much more than most people will ever need.

AFPR is not needed for a 190lph pump

Since you're on the stock 2G turbo, keep the boost around 15-16. Anything above that is pretty much just hot air since it's out of it's efficiency range(even with your upgraded SMIC or FMIC)

I'm currently running 19psi on a 50 trim with 850 injectors and a 190 pump
Some others are running their 50's at 21-23psi with the 190.
I would say anything above a 50 trim, you may want a bigger pump...Just my opinion

Yea I ran a 255hp witout an afc or fpr and my car ran insanly rich. But now I had the 255hp,full -6an fuel line and 850's and still didnt have enough fuel for 18psi on my 60-1 and had to rewire it. SO if your gona keep the t28.......just get a 190 for now and if you go bigger just rewire it...warn you I burned mine up in alot faster rewired tho ( 10k outa it stock and 1k miles rewired).

a wlabro 190 is a waste of money, when you can get a 255 high pressure for under 100 bux..

remember, when it comes to fuel system, ALWAYS buy bigger and better than you THINK you need..

Yeah i agree. I just installed my 255 hp and aeromotive afpr, very awsome. It works great and feels right. Plus i know i have plenty of room to expand. Personaly why ever spend the money on a lesser mod if there is the chance that you may need to replace it to run more power or something.

I am ordering a 255 and AFPR...is their any tuning involved? Or is it just plug and play?

Right.... I'd like to know that too.

From what I've read the 255hp with an AFPR should keep the A/F Ratio normal (not rich), but do you need to have any kind of tuning device?

Anybody installed just the pump and AFPR to a basically stock vehicle? What happened?

I hope not, because stock base fuel pressure is more than twice that.

Yes the afpr will keep the fuel pressures at the stock settings. The 255 may overrun the stock fpr. Don't buy the B&M Commando because it still uses the stock tiny fpr outlet pipe.

I had a Supra pump and a AFPR installed with out any tuning device and it worked fine.

All i did to set it up was install it all, then tighten the screw down a little to get some fuel to start... turned on the car, its showd 3.5 bar, then i just adjusted the screw until the gauge showd 3 bar. which is 43.6 psi, and i was set

I wonder how far you could take the stock 450 injectors with using an AFPR and walbro 255 ? I am running the 14B right now, and I have a logger. Could I just turn up the fuel to avoid knock while running the 14b at 18 psi? At this high of fuel pressure could the stock injectors be damaged? Would the car still idle ok?? Has anyone tried this?

I'm working on this right now .. I'm using a 190 pump, stock injectors, and 50 psi pressure. Do far the car is running good at 17 psi of boost.
