ok, so at my seasonal job at sears im going to be getting a massive pay check in a few weeks and i want to blow it on stuff for my car and im trying to do some shopping now. i know i need a new fuel system, logger, and some sort of management, and a bigger turbo because i have the T-2small in there. my question is though, since i need to replace my timing belt, and paint my valve cover soon i was wondering if i should get new cams to. i am thinking of getting a t28 turbo so i think the 264/264 cam set would do just fine. any advice is appriciated. thanks.

also, would i see big gains with a t28 turbo? my car is mostly street driven so i don't want to throw in a massive turbo (well, i do.... hehe.... but i wouldnt make sense) and loose the spool time i have now.

Blow that money on a Ball Bearing turbo in a larger size. ;)

If you are getting the cam gears, which is a good thing. Go for the 264/272 combo. They cost the same and have been proven to produce better numbers than the other combos out there. I don't think you nessaseraly (sp) need them, but I wish I had them.

Give us a $$ number to work with and we can hool you up right! :thumb:

(Nothing is more fun then playing with money I don't have, unless ofcourse it is my own money I am playing with.) :D

get yourself:
16G Turbo
16g turbo install kit
APEXI SAFC
550cc injectors
walbro 190 or 255 fuel pump
3" exhaust
Ported o2 and ported manifold

the difference between your turbo and this is night and day.

Don't listen to the people that say 264/272. That combo is effective for big turbos at high rpms only. The 264/264 combo would be better if you are going with a T28 or 16G turbo.

i already have an apex'i turbo back exhaust, so thats a little money i dont have to spend. here is what ive come up with...

evoIII 16g turbo and install kit
apexi safc
data logger with palm pilot
550cc or 660cc injectors
walbro 190 pump
solid upper intercooler pipes

is that good do you think?

It's a good start. Definately do those before the cams.

i say get the 660s and the 255 and a afpr. in case you ever want to upgrade the turbo later on down the road. along with the evo 16g, afc, logger, and the pipes. you might even have enough to get a maft left over. skip the 16g install kit its not needed at all. all you need is the j pipe.

Small 16g, not really a big turbo. You will see better gains with a turbo that can put out better numbers in the higher RPM range ofcourse, but even the small16g gets 1hp.
