fuel pump size????

i know there are other threads like this but im confused. i currently have a walbro 255 pump. ive got fic 650cc injectors, stock fpr, t28 turbo and will be running 20psi. chipped eprom for 650 injectors. my question/concern is my buddy has an evo 8 he wants to upgrade his fuel pump to a 255. im having problems tuning my car because the walbro 255 is maxing my fpr out. should i just get an afpr or should i just trade my buddy for his evo 8 pump? can the evo 8 pump handle my desired setup?

just get a afpr, the 255 will probably come in handy later on down the road

Yes, the Evo 8 pump could probably handle your setup now, but why bother? That would be downgrading!

i know it would be downgrading but we are both in need of something different and im short on money right now....but i need to know if it will def hold up to 20-25 psi no probablem with out starving my car?

Just keep with what you have and save up for the AFPR. Any upgraded pump will benifit from the AFPR. You'll be running a little off until you can get your fuel pressure set. They have kits you can buy for under 200 IIRC.

i went ahead and swapped with my buddy. so now he has a walbro 255 in his evo8 and ive got an evo 8 in mine. i think we both made out pretty good. im making progress in tuning mine now with the safcII. ill keep an update on how its coming along. from what ive read theres een people running up to 25psi with the evo8 pump. my goal for now is 20psi so i should be fine. now once i get my frankenstien block from dsmg ill be returning to the 255 and running much more boost............the problem im having is keeping my rpms steady when i give a bit of gas...from 800rpm to 2500 i cant keep it steady. it goes up and then back down to idle constantly.....it wont stay. i unhooked my isc but that didnt do nething so i dont think its that. any ideas?????????
