Well I am installing a Walbro 255 and am stuck removing the stock pump. I cannot disconnect the bottum feed line from the fuel line. Ive tried using the flared wrenches but it still strips. The fitting will not budge and the smaller 14mm fitting is starting to strip. I tried drenching it in PB Blaster and it still wont budge. I dont think I have the leverage I need. Does anyone have any tips to get it off easier? IT is this fitting next to the fuel tank:

I had some trouble with my fuel pump install and ended up going to home depot performance and getting a adapter with barbs on both ends for the fuel line, cut the part of the fuel line off that sucked and put in the adapter with more fuel line so i had more to play with. Then i just cut the threaded end off of the fuel pump housing and clamped the fuel line on to that. 3 years...no leaks.

I may have explained this pretty poorly but if you're interested i can clarify.

Buy or bust out the largest two pairs of locking pliers you can get your hands on and still fit in there, and use all your might to clamp those sumbishes on each end and give it a go.

If that STILL doesn't work, it's probably time to cut the line, buy some new line and flare fittings from NAPA or Summit, and borrow a tube bender and a set of flaring tools. That's what I'm going through right now. On mine, there was no way around it - my fuel line was so rusted it practically disintegrated when I was trying to get the flare nuts to break loose.

If you do end up cutting the line, you have the option of finding a way to connect it to the old lines, or just running new line all the way to the engine compartment. I'm opting to run new 3/8'' hard line all the way from the pump to the fuel pressure regulator, which should increase flow a little over the stock lines. This'll also allow me to scrap the restrictive POS DSM fuel filter, which'll be replaced with a larger better-flowing filter.

LOL thanks for the help guys. I got it out finally. Used a 19mm open ended wrench and a medium size pair of vice grips. I did do some damage to the lines though, but its not that bad. Ill have to see what it looks like in the daytime. Thanks again for you help :thumb: :dsm:

Similiar situation here, i just got all my new stainless brake lines on all 3 wheels then came the last one. Got everything on the last wheel then went to break the last 10mm to 18mm connection loose and it stipped off, (didnt use a line wrench  ) So i get out my trusty vice grips and finally after about 2 hours of frustration got it off, I hooked the new stainless line to it and the dam hard line musta got kinked cuz now its leaking brake fluid. Well, i went and picked up a hacksaw to cut the line, and a flaring took, now i just need my dad to take me to get a new fitting or 2 or 3 so I can extend the line now, DAMNIT!
