fuel or wireing issue?

i just bought a 1990 eagle talon tsi awd, and i was having some ignition issues. it would start just fine and then after about 10-15 min of driving it would start to run on two cylinders. i have replaced plugs, wires, power transistor, and coil. after i did this i figured out that the fuel pump went out...i just replaced it with a brand new walbro 255, and now the weird part.... i crank it over and it dont start, i disconect the fuel pump and try again and it starts and runs for about 10 min's... i plug in the fuel pump and it almost dies, i have checked the injectors for purg and the pluseing with a test light and they are fine... i have no idea what is going on with it... i think its the fuel pressure regulator?? i will try and put a video up in the next day or so... please help a new dsm(Left the Honda stuff behind)...

The 255 may be over loading the stock FPR and injectors. You need some way to control the FP. If it is running when you un hook the pump and dies when you hook it back up. Try that and let us know

it doesn't die, just idles like crap... under load it runs great, this was happening with the old stock fuel pump to... i can let it sit for like 5 to 10 min with out the fuel pump hooked up, it idles great, i hook the pump back up and it idles really rough... i can go around the block and give it some gas and go from second to third and then hit the gas it doesn't do any thing unless i hold the gas to the floor for like 30 sec's. how can i tell if the mass air flow sensor is wired in right? i noticed that there is a wire not hooked up(is this normal)

I'm having the same issue on my 92' Talon TSI. It seems as if it just starts to run on 2 cylinders then as I'm cruising down the highway it will fix itself! Then yesterday it completely shut down and would not start. I am running a Walbro 255, just swapped out the injectors last week thinking the injectors were bad because I could pull the harness off the number 2 cylinder and it would not chage the idle or rpm at all. I've already replaced the coil pack, injectors, I just put on a AFPR yesterday thinking it was bad, new 255 Walbro fuel pump, new NGK plugs, new wires, new IAC, new TPS, checked all the fuses and it throws the CEL but nobody around where I live at can hook up to the harness. They just told me to get rid of the car because they couldn't tell me what was wrong. Well I think there is only a few pieces that could else be bad being the computer or the wiring to the computer. Anyone else know why it would be doing this? I would really appreciate their help. Thanks.

mine doesn't throw any codes which is weird... you can check your own engin codes... get a chiltons manual or look on the net for how to do it... you can disconect the negitive cable for 10 sec and then connect it again then turn the car to on position... it will flash longs then shorts... do this and get back

ECU Code Checking I found it easiest with the speaker and some aligator clips.

just picked up a new 2g maf... ordered aeromotive afrp... hopefully this will fix all my problems... or at least the running issue.

alright update... afrp helped a little... then the head gasket started leaking out of the block... took it to a friend and he told me that ecu is toast... and now its getting a little work so ill have it back in a few days
