That sucks. You may have been able to get a few bucks out of it on eBay! You cannot use a SAFC to tune in boost on a 2gnt, thus it is nearly worthless.

Most 2gnt'ers use an FMU or SFMU for their basic turbo setup's.

Hahn's Portfueler is supposed to be pretty nice, easy to install, and can support a lot of power. It is expensive, but Hahn offers great support.

MS is awesome and inexpensive, (as Alex pointed out) but requires changing some sensors, (and re-tapping holes for their use) and some harness hacking and re-wiring. And if you run a screwy tune, you can screw your motor.

There are other options, but they have limited functionality or support in most cases. DFI, eManage, Haltech, 034efi, and AEM EMS are some that have been used.

Something to think about Knight.

Would it not be worth the extra money for the Portfueler, seems how it is basically hook up and go? While the MSnS is similiar to plug-and-play, which if you do not know what you are doing could result in the loss of your motor.

Correct me if I am wrong!

I run a megasquirt $400 assembled with wire harness, which is clearly labled and easy to install MSI as an autotune function and can also be a complete standalone if you want. The software is also open source which is great for future changes. I ran E-manage first and was just a waste of money since it does not control ignition and you will want to once to start to run higher boost!

It all depends on what your goals are really. There are plenty of guys that run decent amount of boost on a decent tune with the SFMU. Anything past that and you're basically looking at expensive portfueler but easy, or cheaper megasquirt but way more in depth.

P.S. Just have to add for clarification...you don't "have" to tap/rethread or what not for sensors when installing the ms ;)

thanks for all the replies, i think im leaning towards the megasquirt. i just looked at there site and it looks really informative. Also since my safc got stolen the insurance basicly paid for the megasquirt so come august pistons/rods, megasquirt, and treadstone turbo kit will be ordered thanks again for all the help

Sounds good, keep us updated :thumb:

Once again, the megasquirt is definitely very in depth, but there is tons of support for it, so with a lot of research and patience, you shouldn't have a problem.
