I was looking through the archives and came across

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...ace-stock-fuel-line-ss-braided-pump-rail.html

However, some of the pictures are not loading. I bought the STM -6AN kit, since I'm running stock rails. Does anyone have pictures of the fuel tank end? Any pictures of how someone ran a new fuel line?

Ok, I did some more reading and I have a question about the Russell ProClassic Nylon Braided Hose.

Some people are reporting that you can smell gas emanating from the hose. Others have reported that the 15% ethanol gas is eating away the rubber internal hose. They recommend using a PTFE (teflon) lined hose.

Most of what I'm reading is that PFTE is meant for brake lines, however, people are using it for fuel lines as well? Any thoughts on that?

One issue that I read was that the PFTE hose is a little smaller than a hose like the Russell ProClassic. With that in mind, will the hose adapters from the STM kit still work on the PFTE hose?

This is the hose that was recommended:

I can take some pictures if you need. I used the stm -6an male to 14mm x 1.5 bubble flare fitting connected to factory hardline off fuel hanger assembly. Ran proclassic hose from tank to fuellab fuel filter. I only fill up at stations that don't put ethanol in their premium. We don't have e85 here or I would have ditched 91 oct long time ago.

Hopefully in the more than four years since he posted the query there was a realization that ethanol does eat the rubber and a resolution found.

I would be interested in learning how Montana avoids the ethanol mandates.

haha I noticed it said 2012 I just said f*** it. I want to hit 30 posts so I can start picking some brains and people that really know their shit. Still no ethanol anywhere in our state and closest 93 octane gas station is three hours away.

About a year ago I was in the Columbia Falls area for a few weeks, then went down to Utah to pick up an ecoboost powered truck, back up to CF then returned to the southeast. They did have much better fuel up there. Even on winter blend (late January - early February) I was seeing 22-23 mpg. I'd have to buy the non-ethanol then add octane booster to get that around here. The non-ethanol 87 is generally 10 cents a gallon more than 93 (w/ ethanol).

ive looked into using octane booster but ive heard that it will only add a point if that and the differences wont be noticeable. I wouldn't mind running a meth setup but the nice kits can get expensive. Id hate to invest into a nice meth setup then my luck E85 will finally come to my state. I cant really get much more then 20 lbs out of my 16g without knocking even then sometimes I still log .4-1.0 knock retard.
