I have 2g gst, i want to take off the fuel filter. It is a pain in the ass, theres so little room to wrench it. i think i might stripped it a little. I held the top part of the filter with a 19mm on the banjo. and I used a 14 flare wench on the bottom. I make sure to turn counter clockwise on the 14mm.

Is there any power tools i can get to loosen it. Or any easier way to loosen it. my car has 120k and in ny weather.

I have an electric impact wrench that I used on the banjo bolt. Zipped it off in a second. The flare nut on the bottom I actually rounded off with a flare nut wrench when I changed the fuel filter back in 2002 or some thing like that. I removed the battery tray and support, and the charcoal canister. It gave me enough room to use vice grips and break the nut loose. I was able to use the flare nut wrench to tighten it, as it was rounded from trying to loosen it all those years ago.

thanks a lot mark, i didnt bother to take out the tray and cannister. will remove it for the 2nd try. wish me luck. Is the flare nut actually reversed? so righty is loosey?

I took the bottom bolt out and disconnected the filter-to-rail tube and then pulled the entire filter out managed to wedge the filter against a cement pad and lossen the bolt by jumping on it with a special racthehead that digs into the stripped bolt
