The fuel filler neck on my 1997 GS has rusted through and I will need to replace it. However, apparently this part is impossible to find and is no longer manufactured. I've called the local stores (autozone, andvanced auto, etc) and they could only give me a part number, #fn893. I've called every junk yard within an hour drive and none had any 97 eclipses or talons.
Has anyone been able to find this part recently, or do you have any advice on how to fix my issue safely? I can't weld it because I'm not equipped to, and would rather not, weld on a fuel tank/line. I'm thinking maybe I can use a piece of rubber tubing and hose clamps short term, but I'd like to fix it right. I don't want to get into an accident and have my car catch fire or blow up because of it.
Can any other year's filler necks fit the 97?
