I installed a front strut bar today and when I closed the hood, I noticed that the strut bar has hitting the heat shielding on the inside of my hood. The hood closed, but I can tell that the bar is putting some pressure on the hood and the latch. Since Ive heard some nasty stories of DSM's hood latches failing, Id like to know if its safe to drive the car when the bar is putting upward pressure on the whole hood assembly.

My friend had the same problem. But he was stupid and put it on backwards. We flipped it around and there was no more problem. Just a thought.

same hear I just cut just a little and it stop hitting the hood
it gives you like 1/2"
i used some playod to check :thumb:

Even if he did install it wrong it would stick up way to much, and he would probably have noticed that it was installed wrong because it would not even come close to closing.

Some strut bars are just made a little different than others, and some hit the hood just a touch.
