I think if you search, this question has been asked before, although it's usualy to go from the 90-91 style front to the 92-up front. It can be done, you must use the 1990-1991 Hood, lights and pop up light motors, fenders, bumper, and bumper support. Other than that, removal and replacement should be straight forward.

yes the switch is pretty easy as jay talon said you will need bumper, hood, fenders, headlights and motors, turn signal lights and the grill insert you will also need the plugs for the headlights they will need spliced in you might also need new plugs for the turn signal housing because your 1gb lights might not pop into the 1ga housing but im not sure

I know this is an old thread that Im bringing back from the dead but I'm currently in the process of doing this conversion myself. I picked up a 92 shell with no hood, headlights, bumper or fenders and I had a 90 parts car sitting around. I've always liked the look of the pop ups anyways so I decided just to do it. I pulled the hood off the 90 and bolted it up, no problem. I then tried to bolt up the headlights. I had to trim off a little piece of the headlight mounting tab to fit the pop up in place. No problem, they bolt right up into the stock holes. Next was to try the fenders. No go, the headlight mounting tab/bracket was in the way. A little more trimming and the fenders mounted right up. The bumper fits fine, but the marker/signal lights were nowhere near fitting. What I ended up doing was drilling out the factory spot welds on the marker light mounting "buckets" for the front lights. Removed the plates that were in the same location on the 92 and now the "buckets" will weld right up, You could also use holes/bolts if you have no access to a welder. As for the side marker lights, I cut the entire headlight/marker light mounting bracket from the front of both frames and welded the 90 parts onto the 92. I'll go out tonight and get some pictures and have em posted soon. Just thought Id give everyone a detailed update onto the differences and whats involved in the swap.
