Alright folks, i have a 91 laser rs. And i want to have the gst. But im able to buy a cheap 98 rs. I was wondering what it would take to convert it to a gst. I would rebuild my motor first, then drop it in. But where do i go from there? Fuel pump, any electronics, ecu, what would HAVE to be done? Any advice or tips, please give them. THANKS.

It would be better/cheaper to turbo the 91 if it has the 2.0! This is a very open ended question, and it's hard to answer. Assuming you did all of your on work on the 91 you would need the following from a 1g factory turbo'd car:
Exhaust Mani
Turbo
Turboback exhaust
SMIC if you plan to turn the boost up at all.

Other things that would be nice to go along with that would be:
an aftermarket MBC(joeP or Hallman are good) and Boost Gauge
Something to tune with (Safc, GM Maft, etc)
1g rods and 2g pistons definately wouldn't hurt.

I'm sure I forgot some stuff, but this list should get you started assuming you have a na 4g63

Also, to turbo a 2g, it would take more customization, and money. The n/t 2g has a chrysler 420A (found in neons) not a mitsu 4g63. Some companies, however, make a turbo kit for 2gs, but at thier price, you could just pick up a factory turbo'd car.

IMO, it the cost/benefit ratio of turbo'ing a 2g doesn't seem appealing at all. Turbo'ing a 1g is much simpler(still better to buy a factory turbo'd one, they can be had it good condition for around $2k)
