Ok, here's the story. I was racing my friend's WRX the other day, I get to 3rd and I'm flooring it, boost is max'd, then I get this HUGE "BANG"! Seriously sounded like a shotgun shot, not just some little backfire or anything like that, I check my rearview and there is this large cloud of black smoke.....and to top it off, my car died (but I just turned the key and it started right back up). This used to happen a few months ago, but nothing this hard or loud. I've been told that it's a boost leak, or I have the boost too high. Right now my boost controller is one of those cheap-ass $15 ones from ebay. I had a turbo XS that I got for $50, but someone bought it from me for $80 and I just haven't gotten around to getting a better one yet. Anyone have any ideas what's up?
