Hey, so everything is going a little better with the car. It's driveable now. The issue I'm having is the freeze plug on the back of the block, behind the starter is leaking causing fluctuation in my temp gauge but not overheating. It's a real pain trying to get to that plug, let alone pull it and replace with the motor in car. Can I just get some jb weld for now to seal that plug up on the outside? I'm not a powerhouse car LOL just stock and trying to keep chugging along.

JB weld stick. Seal that puppy right up.

Surprisingly, my 9-year old aluminum rod motor in my car has the front #4 freeze plug weld-sticked in as well LOL.

Just make sure you are not dealing with a different issue like a cracked block / head, or leaking head gasket.

Thanks for that answer! Appreciate the quick response! Yup it's for sure a leaking plug and now on to 206k miles! Haha

degrease the area first and drain some so it isn't seeping when you put it down. rough the area with a red scotchbrite or coarse sandpaper so it bonds better. brake-clean the area off, dry, and then use JB Weld Stick. Knead it really well, and put on surface all the way around the freeze plug and knead into the block and freeze plug so it fills all the void space around the flange of the freeze plug to the block surface.
