FPR question

I just installed a AFPR on my 1g. I never had a fuelpressure gauge hooked up to the syock fuel system so my question is: Does the stock fpr work on a 1:1 ratio or does the stock fpr stay at a constant 43.5 psi?

The stock FPR rises on a 1:1 ratio. I hope you removed the stock FPR when you installed the AFPR otherwise your install was useless. Not saying you would... just checking to make sure.

Yeah..... I removed the stock fpr. Thanks for the answer. And the stock fuel pressure is 43.5 psi right?

1G base fuel pressure is 37psi, NOT 43.5.

Also, your stock FPR will maintain 37 psi unless you use a 255 pump without an AFPR and then it will overrun the stock FPR.

Hopefully, the AFPR you have selected also uses a 1:1 boost-to-fuel pressure ratio. Also, I thought that the base fuel pressure (fuel pressure with boost reference hose disconnected) was lower for 1G's (37 psi?) than for 2G's.

Thanks alot guys. I selected the aeromotive 13109 unit. It works great on my 2g 420a and I fdigured it would work great here aswell. I will go play alittle more an bring my base fp down. Thanks again guys.

Yes, the 13109 will work, and is a common choice for the turbo cars.

I did the change and the car idled perfectly. After it warmed up it was a perfect 14,7 AFR. It sure seems like a low idle fuelpressure. The base is 37 but the idle is like 25. But thre car runs great. Thanks for the help.

Idle FP will be base minus vacuum (1:1). Divide inches of mercury by two to convert to PSI, and subtract that from your base. If you are running ~24" of vac when it reads 25 psi, which is not uncommon on stock cams, you are all set.
