I would love to know if anyone has DETAILS on the forced performance FP-Big28. I tried calling them, and got no response from the message I left.

From the site we have:

"cutting edge Garrett Ballistic Concepts internals.... carefully selected a compressor and turbine combination"

Does anyone know what the heck the wheels are on this sucker ?

For compressor/turbine:
Wheel Trim?
Inducer Diameter ?
Exducer Diameter ?
A/R ?

Can someone slap a gauge on those wheels at least and post the #'s ?

A search only lead me to a 36lbs/min compressor flow rate (posted here)... which
really doesn't tell me much.

I'm very interested in this turbo, but I need more information to make an educated decision. There are SO many T-28 variants out there, it is unbelievable.

I know about www.farnorthracing.com and what HP it made there, but that is a fully prepped car with a standalone.

well, I don't have exact numbers, but there is a website around that has all that info for about 20 dsm turbos. What I can tell you is that this turbo kicks ass. I love mine, at 18psi it pulls really hard all the way to redline... I can't wait to get my dsmlink and turn it up to 23 to see what she can really do! I deffinately recommend it.

Isnt it just a t25 turbine mated to a 16g compressor? I think I read that somewhere recently. Take that with a grain of salt until it's confirmed/denied, of course.

(Sorry, I can't remember the REAL model numbers right now, in the middle of a plant shutdown.)

I have been enlightened in my search for T-28 information.

Apparently there are only TWO T-28 upgrades out there. That's right, two.

1.) BIG T-28
1.859 - inducer
2.362 - exducer
62 trim
.49 A/R
T-28 Turbine (Specs ?)

2.) T-28 Killer (big 16g compressor)
1.892 - inducer
2.680 - exducer
50 trim
.?? A/R
T-28 Turbine (Specs ?)

#1 - Is what is being sold by FP, but they clip the turbine 15-20deg for serious top end. AGP and others are essentially selling you #1, which is the biggest Garrett T-28 turbo. Some guys give you a brand new complete turbo, some places re-use T-25 turbine housings (the latter should be avoided).

Based on everything I have learned, the T-28 upgrades do NOT compare to a standard good old 16g. No wonder Mitsubishi used a variant of it for all EVO's.
I have never seen a T-28 compressor map, but based strictly on the compressor housing size, it must be difficult for the air not to be squashed and heated into ablivion on its way out the door.

If any of this information is wrong, please correct me with ACCURATE specifications.
I would love to learn more.

for all of those that want the simplicity of the t28 install.. thats fine.

but for a little extra effort of the install [ it's really not THAT hard ] and the better results, i'd say big 16G

eh just thought, dont want another bt28k vs b16G debate :thumbdown , SO, as far as choosing which t28 to go with i'd go with CFM rating. of course this is at PEAK efficiency, etc. but of course we all know the more flow the better. so i'd say the latter [ bt28k ] i believe it flows 550 cfm [ or 505? ] and is slightly better rated then the bt28

Just want you to know that for the money a bigger turbo can be bought instead. If you want stock looking and a t25 that holds till redline than t28 is it.

And what turbo is that ? Please complete your post. I would like this thread to end up explaining all the T-28's that are out there.

Well a brand new t28 is anywhere from $700-900 bought from a shop. With that money you can buy all variants of 16g's, 20g's, bolt on 50 trims or equivalent. Just search the shit out of all turbo's.

The post started out with me attempting to learn more about the FP-BIG28, I then expanded it to all T-28 options.

There is one more T-28 variant that I found.
It USED to be made by turbonetics. I called and they no longer make it. It was a T3 Super 60 compressor (largest T3 compressor (36lbs/min) ) with a T-28 turbine. The drawback of course is the T-25 compressor cover crammed around that nice big compressor wheel, but all of them have that.

I've tried to call www.agpturbo.com but we've been playing phone tag. From the description on there site, it sounds like that is what they are offering...

I'll post more, if I get answers.

I dont have spec for the turbo but I am a pround owner of one. The turbo was perfect for what I was looking for. Fast spool and boost held till redline. If you dont plan on going deep into your car I recommend this turbo, but thats just me.
