Found a kit for porting,

Hey guys i found this porting kit and figured i would get everyone`s opinions on it. Im planning on porting my 14b a little bit before i put it back on my car. I wanted to find a good kit that had everything and that was a fair price. Let me know what you guys think!

Looks good but it doesnt come with any carbide burrs. I tried porting with the stones and it sucks. Takes for ever, you'll eat stones faster than pizza. A good carbide burr will last longer and remove the metal faster than a stone. I would buy a set of burrs. Get at least 1 oval, drum, and cone shaped burr. Then get some flappers. I think that should do ya.

Yep.. As stated above, that kit will do nothing for you... You need this...

Sweet thanks for the advice gentlemen. Should i go ahead and get the 6inch shank? or will the 2inch shank be ok?

U can get good porting carbide burrs at summit racing. I got mine for like 8 or 9 bucks. I did my exhaust, o2 and turbo all on the same burr. Just look up porting burrs on there web site.

That kit doesnt have any carbide bits though,we are getting mixed reviews here.Are they needed for our set up or not?

Yea ive read on most of the articles that they used a tungsten carbide double cut bit. As far as i see that kit doesnt some with one? Just a grinding stone and i heard those get ate up really quick. I like that kit because it does come with all the flappers and polishing bits but thats about it. Wish they had a kit with the carbide bits along with the flappers and everything else in one kit. Maybe i havent searched enough yet.

I used a 2" shank on 2 exhaust manifolds, 2 turbos, and 1 o2 housing....

They last forever....
$20 buks is a good price, I paid $32 for mine.

Carbide Burs, Cutting Tools, Endmills, and Accessories

I got my bur from there for $20 shipped. Still good 2 manifolds, 1 turbo, 1 head, and 1 TB elbow later. They also have large kits of carbide porting media if you really want to get serious.
