Those guys have been around for a while... not too many people (as far as I know) have their manifolds these days. Welded log style manifolds are inherently prone to cracking unless extraordinarily strong and thick materials are used -- in which case it would cost a lot more than $199. I know he says they're warrantied and all that... but try finding someone who has had to take advantage of his warranty before making your decision.
 
I have heard of them, but never seen anyone run their manifolds before.

I would just get an ebay Star-style manifold for cheaper and it would be better.

Only thing about these guys is you can get the manifold custom made it doesn't have to be a cookie cutter manifold. Like you can get whatever flange on it you want whatever wastegate mount you want and in any location.
 
What oddball flange do you want to use? The majority of the manifolds out there are made for the T3 because the majority of 420A enthusiasts use turbochargers with a T3 style flange.

Use an adapter plate from Hahn for the T3/MHI flanges. It sounds better to me than relying on a welded manifold.

Yeah I was thinking about that but most o2 housings for a mitsu hot side can only really be positions straight up and down:confused: all the hahn manifolds I see are pretty much on an angle or straight out. I found a company that makes ram horns but just by their poor comunication they turned me off. The have as on the buy now auctions on ebay under 420a. Their called like X02racing or something like that.

Just wait for the new Symtech Labs manifold to come out. Should be promising ;)
 
I knew someone would come on and say wait for those guys. I don't know who they are and have never dealt with them so I can't justify waiting for them to make something that may or may not be what I want.

Slippi, I'm not saying use a Hahn manifold... use an Autosquare manifold for all I care. Just use their adapter plate. It'll let you bolt a 14b or 16g directly to the T3 flanged manifold. The way the 420A engine bay is set up, you'll eventually end up with a collector slightly angled down -- as is the case with all manifolds currently on the market. If you keep the internal wastegate, your setup will be very much like those in the Hahn kits; if not, you can clock the compressor housing down.

After researching I just decided against the the mitsu housing all together
 
That happened in October of 2005, so it's not really new information. What have you decided to choose for your turbo manifold needs though?

Your right it's not new at all just I found it after posting last so it was new to me and to teh subject. I am going with a log style with custom welded on wastagate port on the runner(depening on which way I face the turbo will determine wether it's runner 1 or 4)
 
What turbo are you going to go with? I would be careful to place the exhaust housing facing towards the ecu, unless you have moved it and the wiring harness. Too many important things can get melted that way.

I will not be running the stock ecu or running it in the stock location persay.
 
I see. Keep me updated on your build and if you have any questions let me know. I'm always interested in seeing what other people are doing and even learning a thing every now and then.

Def. I will make a thread similar to my OBX with q45 tb thread when I'm done with plenty of pictures and information for the everday tuner. I have not yet considered if I will build this for a everyday fun car and aim for around 400whp or build something a little crazier. The main factor would be the turbo as the rest of my build is kinda set in stone. I will have enough fuel for 1000hp the ability to tune spark fuel and log everything needed to do so correctly. A roll cage aproved for 10.99 and faster runs and all the other goodies.
