I dont see why you would "truely need them" unless you want everyone to know what you have. I personally think it looks a lot cleaner without any type of stickers, but it's up to you.

Mine were just masked, it looks fine and I didn't have to go through the trouble of taking them off and replacing them. Just mask them off.
