No because its still a focus...

I'll tell you what though, you can't shake a stick at em. Mine's got over 140K miles and I haven't ever touched the engine for anything but oil changes (even has the original timing belt and water pump) and a coil pack. I slapped on the SVT suspension kit for $220 a few years ago and it turned into a capable handling vehicle. For a daily driver, they are great vehicles that can be had really cheap! I couldn't be happier with it.

Understandable, But they are MPG cars never will they be a semi sport car. I wouldn't mind having a hatch for a dd though.

I guess you haven't been to Europe :) Over there, they are extremely capable sports cars. They have a version with a Cosworth engine, and they even had a version built for WRC that did quite well. The US version got lost in translation early on... instead of releasing the highly sprung version in Europe, we got a watered down version that was strictly a family sedan. The SVT was the closest we ever got to the European version. Hell - the new Focus RS compares quite favorably to the Evo X. Starting next year, the US is going to get the Europe version of the Focus. I doubt we'll ever get the RS, however. I agree with you though, the US version is more concentrated on MPG than having a sporty nature.

i love my 05 focus it has 105k miles on it and the only thing that has been replaced is the passenger fender and battery. due to the previous owner. my cousin had an 02 with over 350k on it and would of kept going if it werent for his gf hitting a tree. its a very good DD. i do however wish i had one of the models with the 2.3 instead of my 2.0. its max of 115mph makes my 1.8 talon seem fast even though ive only had it to 116mph. but the focus is a well built machine made to run forever

Always been a fan of the Ford Focus, especially the RS (not sold in US). SVT is not bad. I test drove a couple myself (an LX, and ZTS) smooth riding cars. I'm not too partial to the new design, but it's still one of the few american economy cars that competes well against it's foreign competitors.
