I just installed my FMIC and i had my MBC set to 14 psi before the install but now after it boosts at 17psi and it holds pretty well, and i know that i probably should only be boosting around 15psi right now but, i thought my PSI was suspossed to drop not go up anyone know why this would've happened?
 
You could have had a small boost leak the prevented it from boosting past 14 psi and now it is fixed via the FMIC. LOL Unless you have a logger and are doing logs to make sure you aren't knocking then it wouldn't be a bad idea to turn it down some just to make sure.
 
Do you have a stock turbo?
If so with a fmic and fuel pump mod you should still be ok at 17psi, but the T25 will heat soak quickly. The stock injectiors should be able to match that amount of air flow with fuel though, but still i wouldnt go any higher than that though, but its crucial that you log knock because every car is different.
 
The reason your boost went up is that there's less restriction from the IC. With a free-flowing intercooler, there's less pressure drop. What that means is that it basically lets more pressure flow from before it, to after it. Not as much air is being blocked by the intercooler, so it effectively lowered boost before the intercooler, and raised it after. Since your your boost gauge draws its source from the FPS line on the manifold (after intercooler, obviously) it shows more boost.

Actually your right about that but, with his FMIC...

Now that you have upgraded to hard-pipes in you're FMIC, you are going to be able to hold more boost because the stock rubber hoses inflate and actually loose boost. You were actually producing the boost your holding now...it just got lost in your poorly made Mitsubishi hoses. :thumb:

Sorry, but that's nonsense.

OP: Since youre profile lists no fuel mods whatsoever, I'd not run above 14psi without a logger. You may be fine, and you may be running rediculously lean. I'd rather know for sure before I obliviously let my motor consume itself.
