I got a flywheel from a friend & he had it turned & surfaced & I went to have the step checked on it. The step comes out to be 0.614". Is that too much to hurt anything? I am putting an RPS 2500 Max series w/ a street disc back in.

Thanks

It is only .004 out of spec so it should work just fine. For example, a hair from your head only .002-.004" so If that little makes a difference, alot of us are in trouble.

RPS says .612 + or - 2 so your within specs. I talked to a guy over at NABR that used .612 and his works perfectly.

BTW I emailed RPS once and got a response from the president saying .618-620. We recieved the clutch with no spec sheet so we called and that's when the guy said .612. They arn't real good about giving the proper info.

Most everything Ive seen including the factory manual says the step is supposed to be .610". I dont see why any clutch manufacturers would have their own specs unless they required a different flywheel all together.

Hi Bigfoot,
.618-.620 thousands is great for race application when the car is only on the road at the track. This will provide even better release than .612 would. That was the answer from RPS.
Cheers.

Yup that was the explanation, you guys said that .612 might not release fully at when shifting at all RPMs.

I just looked real good at the disk. It's the exact same disk as ACT sold me with their 2600 that went tits up after 800 easy miles with only 8lb boost. ASCO DMO42, the only difference is the rivot is stamped 3C, and the ACT rivot was stamped 2H. So I'm hoping this is a different batch of disks than the ones that have been blowing out springs all over this board. Because I'm going to be really pissed if this clutch fails on me too.

I bought this clutch because I've heard only good things about RPS clutches. Care to put me at ease RPSPP?
