First time at the track with the t-25 and FWD- very interesting!

I also see your Venting unproperly. Thats frowned upon,

U need to work the 60" down with better launching.

after you get a fuel pump + Safc and raise the boost to 15PSI go to the dyno and get a good tune.:rocks:

When you get your new clutch dont shift at 7500 that is a waste on that turbo and stock cams.

And you know... I bet when I get this new clutch put in I will be able to just keep it in 3rd because it was slipping pretty bad (rpm's were climbing and I wasn't going anywhere) and when it was slipping I would shift at 6k but really the rpm's weren't going up that fast because it was slipping. If that makes any sense. Hmmmm- just now realized that. hahaha. Now I got to wait 500 miles. gggrrreeaaat.

No, that is the opposite that would happen if your clutch was slipping. Anyways, if your launch is consistent, or at least somewhat consistent, and your shift points are consistent, and no alterations are done to your car, it is going to run similar to the same times again and again. I'm not going to debate the 'gear ratio vs hp vs torque vs insert bs here' argument. Next time you go to the strip, wind it to 7500 rpms per gear for a run. Next run shift at 6k, then 6.5k, then 7k. See what gets you the quickest time. I'm betting it's the 7500 rpm pull per gear. The best advice is to try different things and be your own judge.

Running 7500 rpms on a stock motor will not hurt it. The stock valvetrain will handle 8k - 8.5k. Its just the cams and turbo holding you back. Shift where you start making less power than what you would be making if you were to shift. I think when I was one the T25 I was shifting 6800-7200 and doing good that way. 6k just seems way too short since your gonna bog some in the next gear.

I'd shift no later than 6.5k you're just loosing boost rapidly by that point.

You have somewhat similar mods as mine, and we're both right around the same place. We both need to improve 60ft's, but finding the sweet spot to shift once you're moving is where you're going to get it done. I was shifting way too early, so thats why I ran a 15.4

I was shifting around 5500-5800. Shoulda been shifting at 6k at least, no more than 6500 though.

Don't have to worry about that anymore though, as I swapped on a 14b over the past weekend, and she holds all the way to redline now. :thumb:

Have the DSMCentral meet tomarrow at Cordova, so hopefully I won't be limping back here with another shitty run.

People recommending to shift the T25 at 7500 obviously haven't ran it. The thing starts losing power at like 5000 rpms & by 6500 its pretty much flat on its face. Even when I ran the evoIII I wouldn't run it much over 7000 from 3rd & up as it too started to lose pull at these rpms. The new turbo however likes the 7500 redline ;)

Personally I found 3250 rpms worked well for me, & the studderbox in dsmlink works amazing, just makes things so much easier. Personally I found I got better 60 ft when I heated the tires abit. Not e-brakeing or smoking the tires, just run to the water box & get the tires to spin abit. It was extrememly cold out that day so this may have been why this bit of heat worked better for me.

Wow, I'm glad I checked back into this thread. Thanks a lot. Yeah I was like WTF when people were saying to shift till redline on the t-25. I just didn't understand where people are getting this extra push out of the t-25. But yeah, my best 60' was when I went through the water box, like you said, and spun the tires like no tomorrow. Not smoking them, but spinning them (enough that I could hear the squilling). I can't wait till I get this new clutch in and see what it can do...

:Edit: daren in what gear were you finishing in crossing the line on the t-25? Just curious

I went 13.7 @ 101 in a 97' GS-T that had intake, turbo back, MBC (17 psi), Walbro 255, and a ACT 2100 on street tires. Shifted at 6K. It should go faster.
