Well you're getting a max of 4 counts of knock, that's nothing to be worried about. IDC's are getting kind of high, it might be time for some fuel system upgrades. Does the car seem like it runs ok, or were you just worried about the knock from the log? Have you done a boost leak test just to rule it out?

Hey, yea the car pulls great and runs fine, i was worried about those sub .90 02 numbers. I'll probably back it off a little until i get an AFC, but i just wanted some input for now. Thanks

Since you're not getting much knock and you have good timing, your O2 values are just fine. Besides, the narrow band O2 sensors aren't the best way to tune your car.

Some peoples cars are just freaks and can handle sub .90 O2 volts with no knock...And some people need .95 to keep from knocking to death. Consider yourself lucky.

Though if you are wanting to extract more performance out of your car, get bigger injectors. If this is as far as you're going ot push it, you "could" stick with the injectors you've got.

I'd agree with not worrying about the o2's. And with looking at fuel upgrades. If you haven't done the FP rewire yet it may just be enough to rid the little knock you have.

Other than that your log looks pretty darn good to me.

Its probably not that he's getting away with the car running leaner according to the O2's, its more then likely his narrow band sensor just reads on the low side. While its okay to compare NB O2 readings for your own car as the numbers will be fairly consistant, its pointless to compare to another car because of how much one NB O2 sensor can vary compared to another.

Hey thanks for the input, i just did a log @7psi and the 02's were still in the .88-.9 range and no hire. I agree, using a narrow band 02 sensor for tuning and comparing numbers with other people cars isnt very accurate, so i just compared it to my own car and just assume my car isn't running "lean" at 7psi.

Things to answer if your bored:

I really dont know what my base timing is set at right now...any recommendations?

SAFC or Injectors first? (will an SAFC max out the stock injectors with a 16g)?

Would you consider an EGT guage and wideband 02 sensor a necessity for my set up?

Thanks for any help

You can't really do either separately. If you put in larger injectors with no AFC you will be running rich across the board, if you do an AFC without injectors, and your IDC are as high as yours, you can't really add any fuel as the injectors are already maxed, so the AFC isn't really going to be able to help you. The two mods really go hand in hand.

Neither are necessary, but both will help. An EGT more for safety as it's not really a good tuning tool. A wideband is arguably the best tuning guide. In a nutshell, getting the proper A/F ratio is one of the best, if not the best ways to get your car tuned well. Many people have a good tune without it, but perfecting their AF ratio would only improve things.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

Ok cool thanks...oh yea BTW my MAS is ungutted and still in it's stock form and suprisingly not getting fuel cut. If the honeycomb comes out what effect will this have on my duty cycle numbers? Also what is the advantage of the 2g MAS over the 1g one??

Hey by the way, youre not running lean. Those O2 reading are ok. Low voltage = lean. High voltage (near 1V) = running rich.

Narrowband o2 values are useless for tuning. You CANNOT tell if he is lean or rich based on these values. They may be an indicator of something wrong, but you can't say 0.89 is lean, 0.91 is perfect and 0.93 is rich. If you are tuning by this data you are misinformed.

I know you cannot tune with o2 sensor (narrowband), but voltage have no choice of corresponding to a rich or lean condition (at least oxygen in exhaust) or there would be no purpose having o2 sensor.
So a higher voltage is suppose to be in the rich side. By how much... you cannot tell but it is rich. Low voltage = lean side... by how much... you cannot tell neither. To know by how much, you need a wideband oxygen sensor.

Narrowband act like a switch.
