hey guys

i just get the vag 409.1 cable and it works with evoscan .

when i drive like 6/10 pulls i get 35 count of knock and the car is like not moving / its boging

but sometimes i get 0 count of knock and the car is pulling hard

when the car is cold ill always get 35 count of knock after 2.5 RPM and the car is like not moving after 2.5 RPM

mods are in my profile

pleasee help me guys

this is my second thread
and thats first when i didnt have evoscan and i didnt know i have 35 count of knock

no CEL at all

but the car is acting that weard like once in two days

like the car was doing those weard things today at 1.30 and then i drive it again at 6.40 and it was all better

but again when the car is cold it will drive okay under 2.5 RPM but after 2.5 RPM it will get 30 count of knock everytime and like not moving at all . But only when shes cold

like you cant really drive it when the car is cold

i chceck the knock sensor now and it looks preety good
it looks like brand new

so i guess knock sensor is okay

Many of us have had sticky lifters do this to us. Turbo spools, sounds mean like sssswooooooosh but no power cause the log shows that ignition timing is 1*. Then when she's hauling balls the timing is normal cause lifter tick is intermittent.

so are you saying thats my lifters ??

they started to tick a lil when it is cold
ill replace the lifters to 3g lifters tomorrow
and ill let you guys know if the problem goes away

btw could some sensor be bad ? and couse that kind of problem ??
it bothers me that when the car is cold it always get 36 count of knock after 2.3 RPM :/

some other suggestion guys ?
did any of you guys here had the same problem ??

thank you for youur help

my car did the same thing from the day i got it.. i have a first gen i must add... but i would kinda get on it and my cel comes on and the car bogs so i lift of the gas then get back on it .. some times it would take off with no knock some times it would just not wanna go.. i figured it was my lifters so i cleaned them out to try to quiet them but that dident do much.. later after blowing 1 and a half ring lands off racing a pro charged fox body i discovered it was a N/A 4g63 in my car (previous owner claimed he thought it was a turbo block) so my guess is the 1g timing maps + the n/a piston compression was a little too much, causing quite a bit of detonation... you might have a similar issue pertaining to detonation... i see you have a beefier turbo on your car and a boost controller.... what you running it at pressure wise? and do you got a good tune on it?

okay guyss i figure out my problem :D

i changed the lifters and problem solved :)

thank you guys for your help
it really help me :D

and i have one more question

when i rev my car to like 5 RPM
sometime knock sensor showes 2 count of knock

i dont have my balance shaft anymore

so should i put plastic washer between block and knock sensor ??
to get rid of this lil phantom knock ??

thank you so much for your help guyss

You're revving the car in neutral and seeing a couple counts of knock?

No, I wouldnt put the plastic washer in the knock sensor. 2 counts free revving wont hurt anything. You might wanna look around the engine while a friend revs the car to see if anything is bumping around or vibrating.

nothing is bumping or vibrating around thats the thing

and maybe cause i dont have balance shaft anymore i see couple counts of knock when revving ??

the 2g knock sensors are very sensetive especially compared to a 1g knock sensor...the 2g sensor will pick up most any little vibration could be a hit of rich fuel knock or if you have solid mounts etc..nothing i would worry about

^Thats a good point. If its just during free revving dont worry about it. If it is during a pull, it probably wont hurt anything. But if its reoccurring in the same spot you might want to try and tune it out. I like to tune for 0 persistant knock...

What are you tuning with? With the evo ecu you can "dull" the knock sensor in different rpm/load ranges. I used to get alot of false knock on tip in and inbetween shifts from wheelspin so I deadened it a bit in those areas.

I`m also tuning with an Evo Ecu, theres some false knock so I just tuned for less than 4-7 units of knock.
Only time it is knocking in this range is 50% throttle uphill, floor it and its good, lift the gas and its good.

I would losen the sensor and retighten it "not so tight" ;)
