Finding a good place to purchase Motor??

Im about to run a search on a search engine, but i wanted to ask you all first sense you all are the experts...

what are some good places to buy an used motor??
i priced a local place and the said 1k. Found another place over the net and they're asking 1100.

is that a reasonable price?

not sure if your looking for a 6 or a 7 bolt, but I've been doing alot of searching ( for a 7 bolt ) and that seems to be a decent price range, it all depends though, if you are buying from a private seller, a junkyard, or somewhere reputable that has done a complete rebuild (like slowboy). I guess this would sum it up for my purpose...

private seller... $600-$1000 bone stock internals, ussually 50-100k for milage ( places to check..classifieds on tuners, dsmtrader, and ebay) could be risky buying privatly though

this is just my best representation of what I have found, I'm sure there are places I haven't checked yet, and also the occasionally "good deal" that you could find on the trader or in the classifieds,

thanks guys, didnt think anyone was gona reply.
i just got the talon yesterday, and the guy i brought it from gave me information to a place he was talking to about rebuilding the motor for $800 (motor in the car locked up due to an oil leak from the previous owner not looking into it)

also sorry bout that, i forgot there are 2 different engines.
im looking to get a 6bolt.
