Finaly found a 1g awd

I have been a member of the dsm comunity for along time and spend most of my time on the 420a side of the house. I have wanted a 1g awd for awhile and I found one here in the area. I am goping to pick it up on sunday and I have a few questions on stuff that I am confused about.

1. BOV venting. I know you are not suposed to just unhook the recirculation hose and block it off. In reading the tech guides and stuff I assume after you get the gm maf and translator you can vent the bov with no problem. Is this right or do I need to do something else?

2. The car is a 92 talon tsi will it have 4 wheel disk brakes?

3. I have alot of gauges that I am going to take out of my 2g and put in the 1g. I see people using the center vent for 2 gauges and the apiller for 3. I have 2 more gauges where is a good place to put them? Do they make a gauge trim like they to for the 2g's?

Thats all my questions for now untill I pick up the car I guess.

To answer your questions:

1.) yes a GM MAF and translater will allow you to vent. If you just want a loud BOV then get a metal intake and recirculation tube and it should be plenty loud and alot cheaper.

2.)Yes 4 wheel disks.

3.) I have not seen a pod for the cluster although I have seen people redo the cluster with aftermarket gauges alot.

1) Yes, you can get the GM MAF kit from SBR.
2)Yes 4 wheel disc
3) you can do the 3 guages on the a-pillar, 2 or 3 in the front vent depending if you still want air to come through or not, and some people put guages in the bottom half of the radio bezel. I would say do the 3 in the vent, 2 on a-pillar, and 2 in radio bezel.

Unless you're building a kit plane, you only need 2-3 gauges. Why clutter the interior.

Thats funny. The reason is that I have them allready. All autometer cf gauges. I have fuel and oil pressure, oil temp, boost, nitrous, egt, and a innovate wideband. They are all important. Also I cant mount them in the bottom radio slot cause I will be glassing a touch screen in the double din to control my car pc.
I see what you are saying about clutter but I like the gauges I guess.

Is there a good write up on the gm maft mod and what it does? I looked and say that you can tune with it which seems strange to me. So to me it looks like the gm maft mod is a way to run bigger injectors along with a aftermarket afpr. Am I on the right track? This is like relearning this stuff all over again.
