I finally sold enough parts to buy a TIG welder - the same Miller Diversion 165 that I posted about a couple weeks back. You can get them on ebay for $1300 and free shipping all day:
miller 165 tig, Business Industrial items on eBay.com

I'm so excited! I'll finally be able to make some tubular bumper crash beams, maybe some tubular cross members, and probably a few other parts that the DSM will benefit from on the road course... now I just need to get some more volts running to my garage.

Having sold most of my exhaust, I really need to hurry up and get a new one fabbed up soon here.

CONGRATS MAN. I would love to have a tig welder, have a mig. I have mastered the mig but can not get the hang of tig welding. My bro works at a machine shop that has everything imaginable and I have probably burned every tig tip in the whole shop, still can't get it. Good luck, welding is definately an art form.

Haha... that's funny because I just picked up a Lincoln Electric 220V MIG and was playing with it this weekend. So far I love it, you will really like Miller they are a very good TIG welder.

Remember practice make perfect! :thumb:

Its not that hard, just alittle different that 110v this time you have 2 power and one netrual, same as a drier or stove outlet. And then a cut off box, or what ever code states. My Syncrowave 200 came with instructions in the owners manual as far as requirements. If you don't already have a bench grinder you'll need one to sharpen the tungsten and a deticated wheel. Its a lot of fun and you'll be burning though argon bottles like crazy!!

That's awesome, Chris. Congrats! Wish I had money for a TIG. Guess I'll have to stick with my $100 Harbor Freight MIG for the time being. Ironically, I'm better with a TIG than a MIG and I don't even have one. LOL
