At higher power levels some Fidanza's spin out the dowel pins holding the friction surface on. Just some though and at high power levels ( 500whp ). I would get the ACT Xact flywheel myself. Its specific to the ACT clutches ( step height ) and can be resurfaced. Its a stout design and is quite light also, which is all good for abuse. The Fidanza will also drop RPM's faster than the Xact just by having a lighter weight ( around 8lbs, while the ACT is around 11lbs ).

ive heard some heated discussions on this before. my friend who has a mr2turbo went with fidanza. he said his shifts arent as smooth as before b/c the lightened flywheel decreases its rotational velocity thus not matching the speed of the wheels. any thoughts about this? is it fine to just leave stock? anyone with high hp&torque #'s running stock flywheel?

Please buy the Fidanza. Cheap, light, and most important: replaceable friction surface. The Fidanza is also stepped for use with the ACT kits. Check out www.titanmotorsports.com and pick up one of these awsome flywheels.

Smells like a shameless plug to me... :p

( j/k )

I would like to say ( from personnal experience ) that Fidanza has the best customer service I have ever delt with. Its a long story, but I actually spoke to Tom Fidanza about my problem and he personnally sent me another flywheel to try to fix my problem. Badass guy, badass company. :thumb:

( Not trying to be an ass ) Your friend needs to relearn how to shift with that flywheel. Many people get the lightened flywheels and have to compensate in their shifting style for the faster RPM drop between shifts.

The stocker is not SFI approved for anything I think ( racing approval ), so I wouldn't trust it past stage I mods ( tuning guide ). The Smithoid ( Team NABR ) Eclipse put down 600whp with a Fidanza in the mix, so they can hold their own for sure. Aluminum transfers heat faster too, so it could mean less cool down time between runs. I'm just babbling now, pay no attention to me. :p
