Well with the cost of having buy multiple fiberglass bumpers or the cost to keep repairing the cracked fiberglass bumper you may as well get the urethane.

IF you hit something and brake the FG... it'll still bend that urethane enuff to make the paint come off... I like FG cause you can mold it easy, and easy fix aswell. I only install FG kits but to each his own I guess....

:: gets ready to be flamed over the FG being better statment ::

haha..

Eurathane is cute if you don't know where your car is or still trying to fix that pesky brake line that doesn't seem to want to get fixed, but for me, I'll take high quality, hand laid fiberglass any day over Eurethane.

Eurethane isn't the same material as the factory bumper. The factory stuff is a sort of "ABS" type plastic resin that's a bit different than your standard chopshop "I can churn out blitz wannabe kits with poorly paid workers too".

easyer to make a shi*y kit fit because it will give some

I'm sorry, you're wrong. You do not win the Vacation to Tahiti or the brand new Nissan Xterra.

If a eurethane kit doesn't fit right, you're screwed. I'd make sure that the company that I'm ordering a eurethane front end would be reputable and have fresh molds, not just some 8th generation copy that they spray the eurethane. Yeah, it'll bend, but it'll look like absolute crap, as opposed to fiberglass which can be molded, modified, and chopped much easier.

Fiberglass gets a bad rep because that's what all the cheap companies use. Sprayed on crap into a cheap mold, shipped out from China, Taiwan, Mexico, (Insert low wage worker country here), don't care about it, and most car guys, being the cheap-asses that they are (DOOD I CAN GET SOME PHAT ALTEZZAS WITH THE MONEY LEFT OVER), will buy the cheapest kit they can get, thus getting headaches in the bodyshop about fitment/etc, and then it cracks when they look at it funny, because it's just cheap crap.

Quality fiberglass work is lighter than factory plastic and eurethane kits, durable, and if the company that made it is decent enough (a la Bomex/Veilside (the REAL Veilside stuff, not the fake stuff), who GUARANTEES problem free fitment), will fit without issues.

If you go urethane, be sure to get a quality kit...urethane is alot tougher to fit perfectly to your car.

it depends on several things
mostly is just your choice on what body kit you want, 'cause at the end you're the one who's gonna be happy with your ride
But if you ask me, you also should have in mind what kinda wheels you have, or going to have, and if your getting a rear spoiler with the kit, or a aluminum one, etc.

www.tspracing.com has many different kits also
www.wingswest.com
www.extremedimensions.com

and many more

I have recommend urathane in the front so it will flew over low drives and curbs but fiberglass on the sides and the rear so they can be molded properly. I have the wings west urathane kit on the front which has been dragged, strached and hit numerous times and still looks great. Its a lot stronger then fiberglass but not moldable at all, so make sure its a quality kit. I like shaving everything and doing a tailight conversion so I had to deal with fiberglass for the rear and sides. If you get a kit, drive slow over bumps, take turns wider, and don't drive on dirt roads.

what if you dont want to mold the rear bumper wouldnt a urethane rear bumper be better since it bends and flexes easier

I have had both kits, and the problem with urethane is if you do damage it, it is harder to repair, and it is also harder to paint i have heard because you need some special stuff that allows the paint to bend and flex with the bumper. I have not done it personally by my personal body work guy explained it to me. Fiberglass is a lot easier to paint, and repair, but I was driving down the highway with a friend one day and he ran over a blown diesel tire and threw it into my front bumper and busted it into two pieces. Both have their advantages and disadvantages...

I have a fiberglass front bumper wich i regret. And fiber glass sideskirts, should i get a fiberglass or urethane rear bumper wich one fits better and will look better painted. The fiberglass is 160.00 and urethane is 250.00

Considering how little you're paying for those parts, it's no suprise that you're having everything crack on you.

What are you taliking abou?I didnt have anything crack on me.I still have my oem rear bumper on,I never got a after market rear.

a fiberglass rear would be fine. considering you never back down a steep driveway and scrape.

aslong as nothing touchs the fiberglass to make it stress and crack, it is perfectly fine....

and aslong as the bumper is atleast "Close" of a fit, it will be fine.

if you have to kinda stretch it and twist it to make it fit, over time it will stress and crack.

ebay or wholesalecumper.com for stock replacement fit well a lot less
aftermarket stillen or wing west
blitz urethane you take your chances

OK so why is Urethane so much more than fiberglass for bodykits? Is it better? Im doing a setup on my eclipse with s2000 tails and fener falres w either a urethane or fiberglass blitz kit and im trying to figure out which kit I should get. And why when I read about urethane it says its made of FIBERGLASS???

-Justin

Urethane all the way. I bought one and I am glad I spent the xtra $ on the urethane one. If I would have bought the fiberglass one it would have been broken off the first speed bump or drive way i pulled into. Instead of breaking it just bends and you paint gets a little scratched.
