Hey guys. A track recently opened a 'economy' race series where only fwd n/a 4 cylinders are allowed, displacement must be under 2.0L.
Rules state no suspension work, no motor work, must retain stock dash, and some minor other stuff (roll cage, no glass).
Im thinking 92 esi or gs with the following mods:
suspension:
-turbo springs
-turbo shocks
-awd rear swar bar (make end links, obviously)
-195/70/14's (thats the biggest tire you can use, this is oval racing) on the steelies.
power:
-removed headlight section with ram air k&n style intake
-turbo intake cam
-minor valve relieving, maybe clean up the port, but nothing noticeable for head porting (don't want to get caught), 5 angle valve job.
-deck the head 'a bit' :).
-custom header w/ side exit exhaust, 1 muffler (rules allow this).
-removed balance shafts, use one of our cut down shafts.
-remove a/c, ps.
-turbo injectors, rail, pump, aeromotive fpr.
-maybe and old school afc or something for fuel control, haven't thought ahead that far.
and of course, gut the SHIT out of the car.
Am I missing something? I browsed the n/a forum for a bit tonight and didn't find anything I didn't know of. This is circle track racing, 15 laps, sometimes 100lap enduro's, top speeds should be under 80mph.
my budget is about 1k or so, we'll see how I'll do. Its gonna be a grudge match between myself, a friend, and a co-owner of the shop.
Anyone have any input? Im figuring I can get 170whp or so with some good tuning, and maybe get it down to 2000lbs w/ driver? possible?
later all

 did you not just say it had to be stock? then why are you modding?

its kinda like nascar, the biggest cheater, without getting caught, wins. Just wondering if there were any other 'suttle' mods out there for the n/a I could possibly get away with.
