I have a 90 talon TSI AWD and lost cold engine fast idle. The shop tells me it's controlled by a wax valve in the throttle body and can't be replaced without replaceing the throttle body. Is this true and if so where can I get a new/used throttle body. Thanks for any help you can offer.:(

the valve your refering to is the fiav.(fast idle air valve) and its really not that nessesary. you can block it off with a block off plate, your car will just idle really low while its cold, but once its up to operating temp, it will be fine. or you can just buy one off of ebay.they go for like 200 bucks.(the whole tb, not the fiav) :dsm:
