I don't know where you got the idea that I think my NT is faster than a V8? I have a spot in my heart for V8's, but sadly to say, Mustangs don't share a spot there. Their V8's are underpowered compared to any other sports/muscle car out right now. If their engines are so great anyways, why do they want to swap an I6 in it for the movie???
sure some stangs are crap, but some arent. ill take 03/04 cobra or my buddies S/C GT anyday over my LT1. And as for the why would they swap the engine out for an I6? Well its a movie and those people are retarded thats why. Why do you think in F & F 1 they had NT eclipse with 7 gears, or the floor pan falling off

ninja edit*** as for where i got the idea why you think your car is faster then a V8. its just an assumption i made. usually people who talk crap always say their car is faster. At least in my experience. Frankly im tired of silly people coming up to me and say their honda dx or someones minivan with hubcap spinners will blow away my car...but i guess you dont fall into this category so therefor: sorry bubba.

Well I was bored and FNF and 2F2F are on TV, so I decided to see if I could find more info about the upcoming FNF3. I went to the official Universal Pictures website and found out a little more info.

News Update posted on 9-29-05

The movie title is suppose to be called: The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

Actors include: Lucas Black, Bow Wow, Brian Tee, Sung Kang, Jason Tobin, and newcomer Nathalie Kelley.

Taping begins this month and official theater release is June 16, 2006.

For those of you who haven't already, I suggest you go pick up the October 2005 issue of Modified Mag(azine). There is an article called "The Real JDM: JDM Goes Hollywood" written by Ben Schaffer, all about this new incarnation of the Fast and the Furious series. It's a very good article.

The article states that this sequel will star "almost nobody" from the first two movies, but will have a budget bigger then both. Based on that statement, I would have to say that this movie isn't going to be as "rice" (as some would say), as the first two movies. The actors are lower budget actors, meaning more money spent on the cars. Apparently, "Veilside's Fortune FD3S RX-7 is one of the first cars considered for a prominent role within F&F 3." He also states, "Universal started things of right by adding Keiichi Tsuchiya the "Dorikin" (Drift King) to the payroll," who aside from being called the greatest drifter in the world, also worked as a technical director for Initial D.

I'm not going to quote the whole article, so I'll finish up here by saying, all in all, I think this movie will prove to be quite entertaining, aswell as a way for drifting to break more into the mainstream. Hopefully meaning more drifting-oriented events, and drifting-oriented tracks, across America. :thumb:

Just so everyone knows. Vin will not be in the third one. It will be about drifting and they say it will be all about the cars. No major actors. The one guy that everyone will know is the DRIFT KING guy who is making all the drifting sceens. Least this is what i have read so far in like Sports Compact or something.

are those 2g nsx headlights?

on topic, i liked the first one but hated the second one. the first was atleast a little realistic although i never picked up on things like the 7 geared eclipse (been quite a while since ive seen it since someone stole it from me) but atleast it was about racing, something the second movie contained almost nothing of. the plot of the first involved racing to atleast a decent extent, while the second one was just about the cars and driving fast, had maybe two races in it?

if this thrid one is as focused on drifting as its supposed to be then it should be good. from what i recall the plot goes as this: kid has car in CA. kid has too many run-ins with local po-lice and is sent to live in Japan with his uncle or something, where he catches the "drift" bug and quickly catches on, becoming very good very quick. later he challenges the city's drift king, who also goes to his high school, not knowing who is. supposedly this drift king's girlfriend is his love interest of the story. this wa sprobably all said earlier in the pages i didnt read. thats all i remember.

the first one was much better, i agree wit you ppl - don't you just love seeing civics get f***ed up by a truck at the end :)
it's what got me into the import world, like most of the other people even thou we don't like to admit it outside this board :)

well, as to the third installment of F&F, all i can hope is #rd times a charm, because the first 2 weren't realistic. but then again, realism isn't hollywood and doesnt sell as well, usually. as mucxh as it will pain me ill end up seeing it in hopes that ity wont suck, and i will inevitably be disappointed.
just a quick question though-in the first movie, wasnt that yellow right hand drive car a Nissan R32? and if so, why didnt it get any attention then but in the second movie the silver skyline gets alot of attention and even awe. just wondering
and who sdoesnty love an eclipse that has 7 gears? LOL
and how come you never heat the "T3" turbo in the eclipse spool or hear a bov? or even see an intercooler?
guess you cant expect too much from hollywood :talon:

the yellow rhd car in #1 was an r33. possibly because it was "already known" to the people in the movie?

3 Things that will make this movie horrible. (If not more horrible then what it will already be)

1. The character will not win his first race because his laptop is screaming at him that his CAI is malfunctioning and the car will over heat and die.
2. The good guys will beat the bad guys by parachuting the car out of a plane in to the bad guys' 3 billion dollar mansion and kill everyone by running them over.
3. Even though the real cast of the movie has been mentioned, what wasn't mentioned is who makes cameos in this movie. This list consists of but may not include of Paris Hilton(without her faithful sidekick and trustee Nicole Ritchie), Simon Cowell, Roger Rabbit, Gary Coleman, Sisco, Pamela Anderson, The Rock, Jenna Jameson, Vanilla Ice, Bart Simpson, and/or Bob Villa. :shhh:

the rock?
jenna jameson, pamela? man...i gotta see that one LOL :)

It would be kinda cool if they brought vin diesel back, but i guess they won't

Everyone knows what happened after the first one came out, a million kids started driving like asses and being a threat to everyone on the road because they were out to earn respect ("to some people that's more important") in their tyte rides. Now this third one, is going to encourage all those midless idiots that the uber l337 thing to do is drift, so around every corner, you're gonna be seeing douchebags trying to drift their civic or whatever... I think these films destroy the car culture... nothing good will come from it.

though, watching some idiot ricer roll his car into a telephone pole could be slightly entertaining...

-its gonna kill JDM
-we will soon see civics and other FF cars "drifting" (aka powersliding, aka e-brake pull turns)
-no body good is in it

opinion, the movie will suck, but Ill wind up seeing it somehow.

If one of them hits my car, I guarantee no matter how bad of condition I get in I will get out and start beating the living shit out of him. No matter the consequence.

hope this doesn't go to far off topic, but staying within the point we are trying to make In the future their my be a live action Initial D movie. do you guys think that movie will bastardize the drifting scene as well? I mean depending on wether the movie is no name actors or big budget stars?
I thought there already was a Initial D Live action?
