I just wanted to know what everyone does for their outside weather stripping on the rear, front and 2 side windows. I'm and trying my best to get rid of all of the built up grime that the car has seen over the years:notgood: and get it ready for paint. The weather stripping does not leak and just wanted to see what people do to bring back the life in their stripping. Paint, replace, recondition? Any info would help. I'd rather not have to replace them just to make them look good at this time because my wife and I are trying to save up to move and buy a house in FL so the cheaper the better. Thanks in advance.

Just don't damage them, because they are no longer available new. Mitsubishi has discontinued them.

Very true they do not make these anymore. Best thing to do is sand them down and paint them properly. I took my front Cowell off and painted it black. It turned out really good and is still lasting 4 months later.

OK cool. I didn't know if there was something out there that would make them soft again or if I should just paint them. They cleaned up nicely with just soap and water but they are a dull, brownish color. I'll go with the paint then. Would vinyl paint be better for the rubber or just straight up paint?

You definitely want flexible paint since you get such cold weather out there. I use vht spray paint or duplicolor. Regular spray paint has a chance to crack over time. I also use clear spray on everything which makes It look awesome.

That's what I thought. I have not used any vht product yet. Thanks for the heads up. I'm basically doing a quick, cheap $50 paint job on the body just to git rid of the cancerous clear coat that it has. I have very little rust and filler to do and the weather stripping would just set the looks back if I didn't do anything to them to make them look better.
