Exhaust Vibration / Resonance

I was wondering if anyone else has a similar problem / experience. At about 2K rpm, when I let off of the gas, I get a vibration / resonance from the exhaust system. This happened with my stock exhaust, and now also with a new full 3" exhaust.

Has anyone had this situation and been able to get rid of it? It's not really a "problem", but just kind-of annoying. I was also wondering if there is a certain location in the exhaust system where this type of resonance would most likely occur.

With my silencer in it does that, but without it, it won't do it.

My car used to do that. Whenever I'd decelerate, the exhaust vibrates and gets louder. This was when I still had my 2.5" catback with stock dp. To add to that, the catback had 1 foot worth of 2.25" piping where the o2 bung goes.

I changed the whole system to a 3" turboback and its gone now.

Usually happens with the stock heat shields. When you changed out tothe 3" system it is probly hitting the underside from sitting too close to the bottom of chasis.

Actually, the Evo III O2 housing caused my 3" downpipe to rest up against the transfer case. I had to have the downpipe heated and dented to get it off the t-case. My exhaust actually hangs low from my perspective....and I don't see anything else that is making contact. Then again, I can't really see what's happening around the middle of the car until I jack it up some time in the future....
