to what exstent or (how bad is the vibration b/w 2800-3500 rpm) . do you feel it in the front end or rear end of the car? you can also check your u joints.

Have you eliminated your balance shafts? 2800-3500 rpm is about where engine vibration can be felt/heard on folks that have eliminated them..

Harmonics are funny things... a vibration can be present but not heard or felt until a certain frequency is hit... Best thing to do is check all hanger hardware to make sure all the bolts are tight and that none of the bushings have rotted out or broken if it's your exhaust that's making the noise.

check to make sure none of the hangers on the exhaust have broken off, allowing the pipes to hit and rub up against the subframe, or any drivetrain components or suspension parts. Seeing is how you have a turbo back this might be the problem at certain RPM's. have someone get into the car and rev it and keep it at the correct RPM for this to happen. look under the car and see where it is comming from. good luck man!:thumb:

well i dont kno i tha balance shaft is eliminated the vibration is not drastic i can just hear it and i been told u can also feel it on the passanger side floor panel at times not all its a crazy issue i been dealin wit for a while now and i finally would like ti fixed my exhaust is a 3in exhaust from the o2 housing back and downpipe from ebay and from there is custom piping maybe this info can help you guys out helping me with this...thanks :thumb:

last time i asked about that i was told it could be crank walk not to scare you, last time i heard it is when the car died...........................crank walk it was

I thought the only motors that walk are 2nd gen motors i have a 1st gen motor 7 bolt but its a 1st gen now im confuzed??

Have an exhaust..? It may just be hitting one of the resonating frequencies of one of the many, many parts in your car; even if you don't it could still be doing this. Did it just start?

When I had exhaust rattles, I stood behind my car and kicked my muffler. Not only did it relieve some pent up anger toward my car, it also helped me to pinpoint the noise. Possibly try moving your muffler/exhaust piping around and see if anything hits or rubs. Bang on things that could possibly have rattling pieces, such as the flex pipe, where my current exhaust rattle is. Rattling pisses me off. I'm going to go kick my car some more.

LOL..now that sounds like a good idea i think my car needs a spankin anyway its been actin up way to often...LOL but dat sounds good ima try it and see if anythin is touchin i checked b-4 a few months ago but it was quick i didnt take my time but ima try it on my next day off thanks:thumb:

Umm...What did you just say, please use intelligent language/grammar.

Thanks! :thumb:

I'd say it's due to resonance though since it started occuring whenever you installed the exhaust. Differents exhaust tones making things in/parts on your car vibrate.

ANY motor can ''crank walk'', Weather it be from a 6bolt or 7bolt dsm, To a ford festiva.
