I'm looking to get a new turbo back exhaust. I'm thinking about going with a full 3 inch megan racing exhaust. My question is will any of the pieces (cat back, down pipe, o2 housing) fit on the stock exhaust/cat? And also I noticed that I can get the 3 in cat back and down pipe but the inlet on the downpipe is only 2.5 inches and the o2 housing is piping is 2.5 inches inches. Is this normal and would this be a good exhaust for the car? I have a 95 gst.

It is normal for it to go from 2.5" to 3", none of it will bolt up to the stock exhaust except for the catback. I'm running a Megan Racing downpipe with a custom 3" catback, that way you know you'll get a true 3" exhaust and can choose the exhaust angle and muffler etc.

If they don't test in NC get a meagan testpipe and it is normal to have a 2.5'' o2 housing inlet since you would need an aftermarket o2 housing to run a 3''DP inlet. Get a 3'' exhaust and look in the classifides here and on other sites, I've seen a bunch of 2g 3'' exhaust setups going for cheap.

Conover, Huh? That's pretty close. As stated, 2.5" downpipe flange is good to mount to a stock turbo. You need to stick to a 3" cat. In NC, a '95 is not exhaust tested so you could have a test pipe but you still have to pass visual inspection. This is where someone would look under your car to see if you have a cat in place (not checking to see if it actually functions).

for emissions in georgia where i live, you have to have a catalytic converter. And a fake one won't work. When they do emmissions they check your exhaust. Normally if you don't have a cat your check engine light will come on, and if that happens you automatically fail emmisions. I was looking at a celica and when i test drove it the check engine light came on. Later to find out that there was a problem with the cat and it had to be replaced. In older model cars I don't beleive their are censors that can detect the different levels of gasses in your exhaust, but the celica was only a 2000 and it knew that there was a problem. If I was you Id just go ahead and get a cat. So if you ever move you don't have to deal with paying to reasemmble your whole set up.

We do not have emissions in my county of Wisconsin. On Friday, I installed my 3in Megan turbo back exhaust. (also have the megan o2 housing but figured I would wait to take off the stock manifold for a FP racing manifold). I am running the 3 in downpipe directly to the cat back and love it. It is loud enough but isn't overkill when I'm on the freeway. It was also nice that I didn't have to modify anything on the exhaust it all bolted together. We did have to take the sway bar off in order to get the massive muffler to fit underneath the gas can but other than that it took about 2.5 hours from start to finish. Good luck and hope this was a bit helpful.

**Also I bought the version 2 of the downpipe as it is a 3 in outlet to the cat

Now ive been looking at ebay exhausts and I've read more on exhausts and is it worth it to spend the extra 200 on the megan cat or should I save the 200 for something else and get an ebay 3in?

STAY AWAY from Ebay Exhausts. The welds will crack in a short time of a period. Plus 95% of the ebay exhaust has a fitment problems. I got myself Megan Racing 3' turboback exhaust and im Lovin' it. Great sound (deep not to loud),Bolts up right on without any extra modifications,And the price is really fair comparing to these big names (hks,apexi....). If i were you i will deff go with Megan Racing.

AS less bents in the exhaust as possible. If you have a lot of bents ,then it can hurt the performance a bit due flow restriction. Thats another plus to go with megan racing, because its really straight exhaust system. Custom built exhaust wont hurt any performance if its done right. But making a custom stainless steel exhaust at the exhaust shop will cost you alot i mean really ALOT.Ebay sells identical exhaust system as MG,but like i said in a previous post ,that the wellds will crack (around flanges) in a short of a period time. Go with whatever you feel going, but remember Less bents in exhaust less flow restriction and make sure, that the bents will be Mandrel bents.

I had more fitment issues with my Megan dp to the o2 housing then I do with my Ebay cat back.. Just sayin.

Keep your stock exhaust in the corner of the garage, go full 3in catless. belive me its not worth the trouble. So whenever you need emiossions again just bolt on your stock one. its cake.

Its all good in saying use less bends but its going on a GST! Its not as straight as the GSX as you have no choice but to have a fair few bends in them over OR under the rear cross member!

I'm still figuring out the best way to make mine with out using as many bends aswell! I've heard a lot about megan good and bad but to be honest every brands has bad and good things about it as the people just like to complain about something LOL. Get the megan and be done with it you will love it and for the price its a good deal!

FP Exhaust Manifold,S.S.Tubular Recirculated O2 Housing,Borla 2 1/2inch Downpipe,OBX High-Flow 2 1/2inch S.S.Cat,SR-S 3inch S.S. Cat-Back Exhaust this is the Complete exhaust system I run & it work's flawlessly on my 2g GS-T.
