I own a 98 5 speed Gsx. It has a built 7 bolt. It has an older precision 5252 with little to no shaft play. On the car it has 1000cc rc injectors, evo 3 or as it's called evo gt exhaust manifold, tial qr bov, BC 272 cams, 3" SRS exhaust with no cat and a downpipebut with a resonator on it. I want to get a new exhaust because to be honest I'm not a big fan of how the SRS sound. Sounds raspy and I've heard other brands that sound 10 times better, mean and scream. have been a fan of the thermal R&D exhaust but I'd what to do. I was told to cut the resonator off my downpipe and get an aftermarket o2 housing since I have the stock one still and my exhaust will sound 10 times better. I'm not sure on that. I live in Illinois so I don't want something that rusts or sounds like a Honda/fart can. Do you thing by modifying my downpipe my exhaust will sound better/mean? If you suggest getting a different exhaust what do you recommend? a lot of people say the SRS exhaust sounds good but in my opinion they don't. If you're going to suggest getting a new exhaust na downpipe with no resonator please don't say go to autozone or O'Reilly's. Looking for a 3 inch or bigger but not obnoxious. like the sound of the thermal R&D exhaust in the video but want it louder but not to loud where its to loud and it will sound shitty or get me in trouble.
