looking for information on the exedy cerametallic clutch. I currently have an ACT 2600 and shifts above 7000 rpm have a slight delay possibly due to the mass of the disc or possibly, but less likely, due to disengagement issues with such a heavy pressure plate. I have done a lot of searching and I am looking for information on how much power it holds and shifting characteristics with the 3-puck disk.

Information I have recovered so far on the exedy clutch:

-82% increase in torque capacity

-2160 lb clamp load

-3-puck cerametallic clutch discs typically have a lower inertia compared to stock discs

questions:
1. does an 82% increase in clamp load mean it holds 391 ft-lbs? (215*1.82)
2. has anyone noticed that this clutch does infact shift better than an ACT or other single disc clutch with a heavy disc.
3. does anyone have any real world information on the holding power of this clutch?

Any input at all would be appreciated even if it doesn't answer my specific questions!

I ran this clutch and was very happy with it. Grabbed very hard compared to my old ACT clutches. As far as shifting, I didnt really notice a difference. The only thing I didnt like about it was that it only lasted me a year. I am currently looking at running a spec stage 3 or 3+ next. They are supposed to grab just as hard but last longer so we'll see. But yes, I would deffinetely recommend the exedy cerametallic 3 puck.

thanks for the feedback.

I would be interested in running a spec clutch or maybe a sbr 3500 but the only thing that I dont like about these clutches is the high moment of inertia they have. If the exedy is not rated to hold the torque that my car makes, which I dont think it is, then my only other option while keeping the moment of inertia low is a twin disc.
