ECUflash Evoscan + 95 EPROM Ecu

You should swap ECUs to a cheap '97 for logging and do an AWD swap. EvoScan works on my '95.

I just installed a fresh version of Evoscan 2.5 No change. I get about 2-3 seconds of logging when I can get it to connect and then I get a Read Error - 4.

Any input?

Have you tried a different cable, USB port, and have you ensured your OBD harness/wiring isn't damaged?

I've done all but the last. Suppose that wouldn't hurt at all.

Hey man did you ever get your evoscan to work with your 95 eprom ecu? Im in the same situation. logs just for a few seconds the shows up a error -4. Heres a pic below of what mines doing.

That's the exact same thing I would get. I finally got fed up with it and used some of the money I made from my partout and ordered Link....which has apparently been lost in the mail and Tom is taking his time to help resolve that issue. Appears God just doesn't want 95 ecu's to be used for much.

Yea i bought the vag-com 409.1 cable and the evoscan software and i cant get it to work on my 95 gsx with eprom and my 98 gst.

Im really hopeing i didnt waste my money!! All im lookin for is something to do some logging with!

matt,

Hm, any progress in getting it to function?

Ahhh. Thread Necromancy.

Have a new 95 ecu and trying to pull codes via evoscan using both a tactrix 2.0 and a Vagcom cable and can't do it. Hrm. Setup works on my 98 flashable ecu, of course, but sadly I still can't crack the method to pulling codes or logging the 95 ecu eith evoscan. About to claim that it's not possible.

This is with 2.5, 2.7, and 2.9 on both a 2.0 open port and 409.1 vagcom.

Rather frustrating.

After a year and a half of dealing with this, unanswered questions to tactrix/evoscan suppliers, dozens of install methods, and issues even with my 98 ecu, I am pulling my search to make this function and furthermore selling my setup as it is more of a pain to setup if a setting is ever lost or the program is setup on a new laptop. I am moving back to Link or a stand alone.

As of right now I deem it a waste of money to purchase this setup unless you have a blackbox/H8 ecu.

Good day

Hmmm I've never had to much of an Issue with 2.5 and 95 Ecu's... . Aside from the Slow MutoverODBII logging rates.

Just keeping in mind some of the things noted on the Evoscan page. With just a cheap cable as well.... .

Are you sure it's not a issue with the pc(s) you're been using?

It's two seperate PCs that otherwise run link and evoscan on my 98 perfectly. This has to be the most frustrating thing I've dealt with in a while. >:/
