EVO8 ECU now for 1G DSM > whos doing this?

Reading on evolutionm.net i found a thread where they have rewired a connector to migrate an EVO 8 ECU into a 1G DSM. Now its in the 2G and i know some of the 1G guys on here have to be involved in this. Is this considered to be sucessfully completed for us meaning we can dump DSMlink or any other chip type mod for tuning our applications. I know you all are up to speed on the tuning ability of the EVO's and the WRX/STi's. Where you can reflash the EPROM that is on their native ECU. No need to replace the ECU with a stand alone or run a piggy back system. You can simply connect directly to the ECU pull off your ROM with ECUflash, then import your .BIN file into Enginuity and then adjust your map. I know all this info is a few months old now. I have used these programs for years tuning subies and a few EVO's. I will do a backflip off my roof if this truly comes to fruition. Has anyone on here been involved with this? Seems its a company out of Texas that is creating the interconnect from our wiring harness to the EVO ECU. If I can get the necessary plugs for both ends. I will get an EVO ECU and build the interconnect. I will donate my ECU to get this working. I want this bad!

I know this is an old thread, but i was looking in ebay and found used evo 8 ecus for 50-60 bucks shipped. Is that right? Im in the process of swapping a 6bolt 4g into a 1992 mitsu 3000 sl and need an ecu. Since im putting the engine together from scratch i could easily just put it together with the sensors needed to run the 8 ecu. If the 50 dollar ecu is really what i need im picking one up. But is there a harness connector other than the evo harness that will.connect to the ecu? Evos are hard to come by in general here let alone one in a salvage yard to snip a harness.

You can use a 2g harness, a mirage harness, etc. Basically any mitsu harness with 4 plugs. Youll also need the OBD2 plug and OBD 1 plug.

That is my situation aswell, I need tuning software but really do not have the $500 to spare for dsm link. Would you guys just recommend attempting the ecu swap in my 90 gst?

Where did you found on ebay evo 8 ecus for 50-60 bucks? Right now I'm doing a plug and play harness for a friend but he is using the 98-89 2g ecu.

I just searched ebay for evo 8 ecu and they came up for 50-60 bucks. I mean some were 100+ but there were atleast 5 for 50-60 bucks. And i thought evo 8 had a different plug. Guess ill go find a newer mitsu and cut a harness and get the obd2 port

Disregard that. Its the acd ecu, not the engine ecu. Those are 200+ still.
