Seamus - w0rd.

c0de - given everything that's been said here so far, what makes you think that the EVO motor is going to be any less of an ass####er to install?

The only real difference is that there are a bunch of folks that have done the 1g-into-2g swap, so you can benefit from their experience. Conversely, almost nobody is mad enough to try the EVO3-into-2g swap, so you're going it alone.

If you've already made up your mind to do the EVO3 swap, why are you asking here? You're not going to get unconditional validation here, you're going to get peoples' honest opinions. Spitting the dummy when you're told that you've set your heart on a stupid idea just tells us that you weren't sincere in asking at all.

code has all of an intake an exhaust on his car. I *HIGHLY* doubt he will be needing a new motor unless he purposely acts like a dumb ass.

wtf is with all this flaming? im just saying that when my engine dies from wutever,in a yr or 2 wut engine i should replace. And actually i got more than intake and exhaust i got a b00st controller at 15 psi. "dumb ass"

I've read the thread and they aren't flaming you. You asked a question and everybody has answered it over and over again. Almost everybody(99%) has told you that it would be better to go with another motor other than the EVO III. Your response after that is to still go back to the EVO III. In the long run, you have to do what makes you happy. Remember though, you asked for opinions so everybody gave them to you. You can't blame some of them for thinking that you're foolish for going against the opinions(that you asked for) of all the knowledgable people on here.

Your original post says this:

Should i get one of these when my engine blows?

Everyone is telling you no but you are not listening.

Do not ask for advice if you are not going to listen to it.

I don't know why you are under the assumption that a 6-bolt swap is all that difficult. I just got done with mine and it was no harder than a regular engine swap. There is just a little extra grinding, soldering, and bfhing. Check the www.magnusmotorsports.com, they lay it all out.

Hope this helps shed some light
peace

low milage low wear galant vr4 motor/tranny/harness/ecu/turbo all together, around 1300. give me a shout, i work for a direct JDM importer if you have any interest. ive got one of these in my car, 32k miles and it pulls like no other stock 4g63 ive been in.

Evo 3 motor will not bolt into a 1g, it has motor mounts on the tranny like the 2g's do. I'm pretty sure that RRE had noted that they don't even have the HOLES for motor mounts, like 2g blocks are missing them.

let me first say putting a 1st gen in a second gen is very very easy i did it in 10 hours thats compleatly second of all i import motors as a side job i have an evo111 sitting in my shop for 3500, if i were you i would save your money call ffwd connnection and let them build you a motor the people that tell you these motors are all 30 to 50 k is b/s in my opinion they avg more like 70 to who knows, i have seen some bad ones they sent me an rb26det that had so much carbon you could make the world biggest freakin diamond,i had an evo in my 91 tsi awd it ran for about hmm 5 months, ran great everything was a ok then i was sitting at a light and my car shut off i said oh f##k popped the timing cover off felt looked the the sprokets ok timing is good leaned my hand and grabbed the belt to try and see what the deal was i felt something missing somehow the teeth had been ripped off the belt lots of them and i use the kevlar belts and i have never seen that happen before got new valves put in it i only bumped two but oh well, put another belt on it same kind THREE DAYS same thing, that was the first one i had ever had i have had three come back to me with the same prob i still dont know what it is, jdm cyclones and evo's are killer motors i know i have had pleanty of them but its cheaper to take that old 6 bolt block you have laying around dont say you dont allllllll dsm'ers have AT LEAST 1 and drop 3k to have it rebuilt you will be much happier, but if you want that motor let me know i can get just about anything you want any jdm car you want let me know from skylines to toyota soarer's i can get it, for cheap

EVO motors don't go in 1g's, and you have got to be one of the stupidest people on this website, and thats not easy.

dude stfu, ive asked people in person that have alot of experience with dsms and they said its hard ####ing work and alot of money to stick a 1g engine in a 2g. I want a direct drop in.

HI, I know a lot about dsms. It is not a hard swap at all. If you buy a jdm 6 bolt you need to trim/grind away some area on the drivers side mm bracket thingy (LOL) and rewire the 2g cas to use the 1g cas. They even make a plud and play harness for that. Then you just need some miscelaneous parts to get it to work. There is a shop locally that will do it for $495 if that tells you how easy it is for them.

Maybe I am wrong, but poeple are talking about swapping a evo III engine in a 2g gsx. Does the Evo III not have the transmition on the drivers side???

My evo 3 swap is almost complete in my 96 GST. I will post pics and my reaction to how it feels Ive upgraded quite a bit so there will be a little bit of a reaction to the performance side of it.
